Reminded me of this - took me a while to find it, for months I remembered it as being an animation and couldn't find it anywhere.

The Thief and the Cobbler — This would have been a beautiful cartoon if it had ever been finished. According to wikipedia, it was written and produced by the animation director of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Supposedly he worked on it over the course of 30 years, only to have his work assumed by another director when the project was sold by Warner Bros. There are finished versions, but they've been re-edited and redubbed after all the changes in hand.

This is a compilation of scenes finished by the original producer, as well as the keyframes of the scenes that weren't finished. It's about an hour and a half, but I kind of had to finish it after I saw the first couple parts. The first 30 minutes or so are gorgeous, and it's neat to see the keyframes at first. It looses it's appeal after that when most of the film becomes keyframes and rough animation, though.

The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon (1963) — Per reddit, “A landmark fantasy adventure anime movie with full 24 fps, assistant-directed by Isao Takahata that established the modern anime production method, later inspired Samurai Jack, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and WolfWalkers.”

It's a slow watch but neat to see the animation style. I can't get over the rabbit voice actor sounding like Bosco though, ugh.

Popeye — Animatic by Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Lab, Samurai Jack). Reportedly, Sony Pictures didn’t think it would be a success and dropped the project. I didn’t watch the whole thing, but had the good fortune to skip to approx. the 16 minute mark where Bluto serenades Olive. Given all the dumb children’s shit that comes out these days, I think I would’ve enjoyed this, especially since Tartakovsky has a great record of producing quality material.

Yeah it actually looked decent. Not a huge fan of the 90's flash animation thick outline style, but I could have watched a finished product of this.
