Only caught the first half or so and it was actually sort of awkward to watch, not because any of them were "bad" but because their personalities don't really clash. James is genuinely smart and can quip when he needs to but he isn't first and foremost a comedian or voice actor. Mike sort of thinks he is, but isn't really. John is sitting there doing joke gymnastics around the other two giving them alley oops at any opportunity, but neither of them seem to know how to respond to them so he ends up sitting there grinning most of the time looking stupid even though the others are the ones who should.

It's much more of a "three guys sitting and playing games" vibe rather than "three entertainers play video games". While not as entertaining to the viewer, this seems more in line with the reality of sitting and bullshitting with friends.
