Also where was the fury when "rape" occured with sexy protagonists? I'm looking at you, Drogo, Jaimie, etc. Just goes to prove people only have a problem with things when ugly or "mean" people do it.

Actually, there was an outcry when Jaime raped Cersei last season, too. It's funny reading these articles and certain perspectives on these scenes:

I get that people don't like rape, but I don't think it's wholly inappropriate to put a rape scene in an HBO television drama, particularly when it appears to achieve its purpose (ie, "made a lot of people very uncomfortable.")
It's asinine to me that people target Game of Thrones for its poor depiction of women, particularly when the series is written not only to mirror some of the real misogyny that occurred in the middle ages but also to be shocking, gory, and all around horrible. It's as though they don't understand that the rape scenes are SUPPOSED to make them feel uncomfortable.

George R.R. Martin has been called a feminist and praised for how he puts women in roles of power.
That being said, that's fine, no problem, let's not depict rape on TV, because clearly it is not something that happens. Otherwise, why raise a stink about it?
